Called To Serve

Dear Sister Wulfenstein,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the AUSTRALIA BRISBANE MISSION. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months. You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center May 22, 2013.

The green part is my mission:)

The beautiful city of Brisbane.

The biggest adventure that I will be embarking on next is a mission in Australia!!

In the last General Conference the age for missionaries was change to 18 for young men and 19 for young women, I honestly never even though about serving a mission, 21 seemed like such a long time away for me, I am only 19! So I never thought about it. I got the incredible chance to actually to go to conference in Salt Lake. I told my mom about it. I had called her a few days before I left and was just so confused. I wanted to know what I was going to do with myself. I don't have a major, I don't have any huge committments with school, I didn't have a plan! So she told me to go to conference with a question and it will be answered. So I decided to pray for some guidence and comfort to make a plan for myself. Then on Saturday morning, my sister Jill ran downstairs where a bunch of us girls were getting ready and told us to come up quick and hear what the prophet was saying. We all ran upstairs and heard President Thomas S. Monson make the historical announcement! As soon as it was said, I felt the spirit in a way I have never felt it before. I felt like this was something I could do, maybe this was my answer! I went to conference on Sunday afternoon, and if you have never been to general conference, you need to go! It's an amazing experience! When I got home from such an exciting weekend, I really pondered about the decision to go on a mission or not. I finally came to the conclusion that this was my answer and I needed and wanted to do this! The more and more I prepare for it, I am so much more grateful for the prophet and the announcement he made. I have started looking at the scriptures differently and others differently. I am so blessed to have such amazing institute teachers, leaders, bishoprics, family, and friends that are supporting me in my decision! I am so excited to share Christ's good news to the people in Australia! I am so blessed to know that my Savior lives and loves me and I have been chosen to serve Him.

Welcome To My Blog:)

I like to see life as a big adventure! You can make your own world a much better place if you see everything as an adventure and what kind of person doesn't want to go on an adventure? Meeting new people, exploring new places, trying something new, experiencing new things; sounds like a great time right? That's life! Yeah, things happen and make our adventure a little tougher, but did Indiana Jones ever waltz into a forbidden city? Did Mr. Fredrickson and Russell just simply fly to Paradise Falls? No, they had some bumpy roads and trials, but did that ever stop them? No, it made their journey much more worthwhile and exciting! The best part is, in the end they succeed and they have a better sense of who they are.

First Day of School at Dixie
My journey is just starting. the first big leap I took was moving away from my cozy home in Pahrump, Nevada to go to college back in August. Me and my best friend/cousin Rachel Maughan made the "long" 3 hour drive to go to college. We live in the dinkiest little dorm rooms ever, but they are the funnest dorm rooms ever! Dixie State College in St. George Utah was our new home and I absolutely love it so much! I am a committee member on student government! *Side Note! For those who are about to go to college/in college-being apart of student government is the #1 way to get involved in school. It looks fantastic on resumes and if you work hard enough, you can get a scholarship! And you can take that to the bank my friends! P.S. it's super fun too.* Joining the Red Storm was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Dixie State College is about to become Dixie State University, pretty exciting!
Now I am back for my second semester and it's going to be a great semester. There will definatly be some big changes coming in my life, but I am excited for every single one of them! I know others will be tougher than some, but I am willing to take on new changes:)
